Superman (2025)

Mixed feelings about the new Superman movie.

so i finally watched superman, the 2025 reboot. and honestly, i'm still torn on what to think about it.

on one hand it looks great, the cast is fine, and there are moments that really capture what makes superman super in the first place. on the other hand... what the kryptonite were the screenwriters thinking?

there are subplots that go nowhere, side characters that get more screen time than they deserve, and a pacing that feels like someone edited the script with a shuffle button. i kept waiting for things to click into place, and sometimes they did, sometimes they really didn't.

i don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say a few choices left me staring at the screen going "why though?"

would i recommend it? probably, if you're a fan and just want to see superman on screen again. just don't go in expecting a tight, flawless story. go in expecting a fun mess with some genuinely great moments buried in it.

i was totally thrilled to see nathan fillion in the movie even if the character and how they tried to be funny in any way is kind of embarrassing from time to time.

so if you like superman, go for it but lower expectations. if you expect a superman of the old days expect zero.

but as said i have mixed feelings because there are some parts in the movie i really like but do not want to spoiler...

maybe watch the trailer and then decide if its worth to watch.
